Since 2014 the future of the National Sports Centre at Crystal Palace has been threatened by the GLA, with the prospect of the iconic athletics stadium and indoor training rack being bulldozed, and the other outdoor spaces and indoor multi-sport areas being re-purposed, with no commitment to maintain the current scale and range of sports available or multi-use event facilities.

  • See CPSP news for latest news and GLA proposals for the NSC.
  • Please sign and share the #SaveCPNSC petition, and latest open the 50m and Diving pools petition
  • Take action on the How To Help page.

The impact of the proposed changes could be disastrous.  Over 16,500 have signed #SaveCPSNSC and over 40,000 signed the pool petition in little over two weeks.  We want the Olympic Legacy for South London to live on for generations to come. The Crystal Palace Sports Partnership (CPSP) is a group of stakeholders who are combining to help form a unified voice representing all interests in the future of this historic site. Our mission is simple:

We support a mixed-use sports and leisure centre at Crystal Palace – a sustainable facility that is shared by the local community, schools, clubs and aspiring athletes at all levels. It should be a resource that caters for the needs of recreational users as much as it provides for and supports the development of the next generation of Olympic athletes.

The CP NSC is owned by the GLA (as long term lease owner from Bromley), and major decisions are made by Mayor of London on it future.

Please sign and share the petition to get your voice heard about these #SaveCPNSC changes, and the petition to get 50m and Diving pools open again.

This is even more important now the GLA’s first public consultation survey closed on 16 November 2014, and re-opened again in January 2018, yet the whole centre is still without an agreed Masterplan in 2022.

Please also contact CPSP and the GLA to have your say on what the NSC changes mean to you and your club/school, both in terms how the NSC is used, and also in terms of sporting and health benefits.

Your voice is vital now if you want something better for the NSC.

For further information please contact The CPSP Chairman, John Powell MBE, via Chair@cpsp2020.com or go to the  CPSP news page  to stay up to date.

  1. Having been involved with athletics since school age and now a veteran, I feel any loss of athletics facilities in the south is a loss to the community and the younger generation.
